Offshore LED searchlights for platforms and support vessels

Salt spray, vibration and long maintenance intervals: searchlights, deck floodlighting and ATEX fittings for platforms and support vessels.

Offshore duty means salt spray, constant vibration and long intervals between maintenance windows. We supply offshore LED searchlights, deck floodlighting and hazardous-area fittings against those conditions. Housings across the catalogue are specified from IP65 to IP68, rated life runs from 50,000 to 100,000 hours, and the fittings are built around LEDs from Philips Lumileds and Nichia with Mean Well drivers. For classified zones we carry a separate ATEX and IECEx explosion-proof range. Send us the unit, the deck area or the lux target and we specify against it.

What we supply to offshore installations

Search and manoeuvring light comes from our marine searchlights: a single-lamp 180 W unit and a dual-lamp series running from 200 W to 600 W, published as the Double 200 W, the Double 380 W and the Wand double 600 W. Both give you an adjustable beam angle and continuous rotation; the dual-lamp series is dimmable. Standard housing colours are black RAL 9011, white RAL 9016 and grey RAL 9006, and housings are customisable on request.

General deck, walkway and work-area lighting comes from the wider catalogue: 1,482 LED flood lights, including 156 modular floodlights, plus 239 high mast lights and 10 LED navigation lights. Hazardous areas are covered by 101 ATEX and IECEx explosion-proof fittings. Specifications are published per product across the catalogue — power, lumens, efficacy in lm/W, IP rating, beam angle, CCT, IK rating, voltage and warranty where these are published for the line — so you can check a deck or walkway fitting against your specification before you enquire. Searchlights are built to order and specified against your drawing, so confirm those figures with us.

What offshore duty demands from a light fitting

Five requirements shape how we specify lighting for platforms, FPSOs and support craft.

01
Sealing matched to the mounting position
Housings across the catalogue are specified from IP65 to IP68. Exposed mast heads, splash zones and open deck take the higher ingress ratings; sheltered walkways and accommodation approaches can run lower. We select the rating per position rather than applying one figure across the vessel. Confirm the rating for the searchlight model with us.
02
Beam control for search and manoeuvring
Adjustable beam angle and continuous rotation let one fitting cover a wide flood for tender approach and a tighter beam for man-overboard search, hook watch or hull inspection. The dual-lamp series dims, so you can drop output without switching a lamp off.
03
Long intervals between lamp changes
Rated life is 50,000 to 100,000 hours depending on product. Offshore, that matters more than it does ashore: every replacement at height or over the side is a planned job with access equipment behind it.
04
Lower load on the generator set
LED replacement cuts lighting energy by up to 70% against traditional sources. Efficacy runs up to around 100 lm/W, quoted per product, so you can size the change before you commit to it.
05
No mercury in the fitting
LED construction contains no mercury. That removes a disposal and breakage concern from lighting maintenance offshore.

Offshore installations we light

Drilling platforms
Deck and derrick working light, walkway and stair lighting, and ATEX or IECEx fittings for classified zones.
FPSOs
Process deck, turret area and accommodation-block lighting, with explosion-proof fittings where the area classification requires them.
Offshore supply vessels
Cargo deck floodlighting and searchlights for approach, mooring and cargo transfer alongside.
Research ships
Working deck lighting for over-the-side deployment and recovery, plus searchlights for night station work.
Standby and support craft
Searchlights for the search and rescue work these crews are called out for, and for night manoeuvring, sized from the 200 W to 600 W dual-lamp series.

Simulation, costing and delivery support

JNLED was founded in 2010 and is headquartered in Hong Kong, close to the factories in South China we work with, which allows close collaboration on product development. We hold our own moulds on key product lines and buy direct from the chip, driver and coating suppliers, which is what makes customisation practical on an offshore order rather than a catalogue-only exercise.

Before you commit, we produce light-simulation reports for the deck or space in question and cost-saving calculations against your existing installation. After the order, we cover project design, production, logistics including customs clearance and warehousing, and installation support, and we ship worldwide. Warranty terms are stated per product in the catalogue.

Send us your offshore lighting requirement

Give us the unit or vessel, the area to be lit and your lux target, and we come back with a specification, a simulation and a price. Existing drawings or a lighting schedule speed this up but are not required.
